Sarah Carstens

Sarah has over 15 years of legal experience in both in-house and private practice roles. Her expertise includes handling and leading the day-to-day commercial legal issues (including handling and negotiating major agreements, disputes and general advisory issues), managing company risk, advising boards of directors, implementing initiatives to improve governance, legal risk management, regulatory compliance and managing regulatory relationships.

She has a post graduate diploma in governance and risk management and is a chartered company secretary with Governance Institute, Australia.

As part of her previous roles, Sarah oversaw the implementation of significant regulatory reform projects including anti-money laundering, insurance and financial licencing regimes (New Zealand) and the establishment and management of an enterprise risk management programme.

Sarah is admitted to practice as a lawyer in NSW and in New Zealand. Prior to joining Inside Eagles, Sarah was the General Counsel and Company Secretary for Fisher & Paykel Finance, and before that a senior corporate lawyer at ANZ Bank. She has also worked in the finance teams for several large law firms including Linklaters (London) and Minter Ellison (New Zealand).
